Windows XP
- Go to My Network Places
- On the left side bar under "Network Tasks" click "Add a network place"
- The Wizard pops up, click next, and highlight "Choose another network location" and click next again.
- Put your ftp site there, for example: ftp://UserName@Host (EG: for domain ftp://user@domain.com or for IP ftp://user@000.000.000.000) click next again
- Give it a name click next again
- Click Finish.
- Now you can see it in My Network Places as an icon with the name you gave it.
- When
you open it you are prompted for a password. Type your password, if you
select remember password you will never be prompted again.
- You now are presented with a folder view of your ftp directory. This will act like any other folder on your computer.
Windows Vista
- Go to My Computer
- Scroll to "Network location", right-click and choose "Add a network location"
- Put your ftp site there, for example: ftp://Host (EG: for domain ftp://www.domain.com or for IP ftp://000.000.000.000)
- Uncheck the "Login anonymously" box (If you have a account to the site) and fill in your user name
- Give it a name
- Now you can see it in My Computer -> Network Location
- Now open your new Network Location.
- You are presented with a folder view of your ftp directory. This will act like any other folder on your computer.
