Transit Websites

SouthWest Transit

The SouthWest Transit website was originally created in 2015 by Avallo. In 2022, we redesigned the site with the guidance of the SouthWest Team. We wanted to make the site cleaner and brighter while also keeping all of the existing content. This included redesigning how the route schedules look so the cities and times were highlighted when choosing the numbered routes. We also reorganized the content so it is easier to navigate and less cluttered. We removed the large navigation across the top and put it all in a hamburger menu. The new site is user-friendly and fully-responsive across all devices and sends out rider alerts to a route's subscribers.

SouthWest Transit is an award-winning transit agency for Carver, Chaska, Chanhassen and Eden Prairie. They currently offer service to and from Downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, Normandale Community College and Best Buy Headquarters. In addition to their regular route service, they also offer a number of seasonal services, including State Fair, Twins Express, Vikings Express, Gophers Express, select concerts, and more. At SouthWest Transit, they believe transportation is about more than just moving people from place to place. It’s an opportunity to make life better and to transform perspectives. SWT Kiosk

Avallo also designed the kiosk for the transit stations. The kiosk is connected to the website content management system and includes both chat and a phone to contact customer service directly.

Liberty Lines Transit

Liberty Lines of Yonkers, New York reached out to Avallo to help them with a new website and a logo redesign. They wanted a logo similar to what they have been using for decades, but with an updated design. Liberty Transit has a very long history and is an exceptional partner with the Bee-Line System in Westchester County. Integral to Liberty Lines's management is the long relationship with Transit Workers Union Local 100. This is highlighted in the new website PLUS route information, links to Bee-Line, career information including a job application, and a secure area just for drivers.

We also designed a new scheduling system for drivers to help reduce the number of manual hours needed for implementation.

The website was programmed to be easily managed in-house. The Liberty Lines website is built for any type of future upgrade. Future upgrades coming soon include an updated human resources section and the integration of a transit app. Visit the new website here: https://libertylines.com/

Metro Valley Transit Authority

In May of 2019 MVTA went through a redesign but kept the transit CMS running on the backend and controlling routes and alerts. We love the new look!

Read the press release below to learn about an important project we rang in 2015 with. The folks at the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority have been wonderful to work with, and we're very proud and happy to be helping locals find and plan the routes and connections they need, as well as be actively informed about any activity surrounding their itineraries.

Burnsville, Minn. - (January 1, 2015) - The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) is launching a new website at www.mvta.com today. This is the first re-write of the site in more than 10 years, with the purpose of the new site being "To enhance the user experience, simplify content management, and provide better information and customer service to our community," said Beverley Miller, MVTA Executive Director.

The MVTA awarded a contract to Avallo Web Development in late July; work on the new site beginning immediately with a scheduled Jan. 1, 2015 launch date. In the interim, MVTA merged with Prior Lake and Shakopee's BlueXpress, so those routes and facilities were added to the site.
MVTA believes that to be effective, the MVTA website must be:

  • Safe and secure
  • Quick to load and operate
  • Easy to use and intuitive for customers
  • Flexible to allow for growth of the site
  • Visually pleasing
  • Informative
  • Flexible to take advantage of new and emerging technologies, and easily adapted to future technologies
  • Work on various platforms (desktops, multiple internet browsers, mobile browsers and mobile operating systems)

"We believe all of these components have been incorporated into the new site," Miller said. "We invite bus riders and non-riders alike to take a look at the site at www.mvta.com," she added.

Among the new features of the site are the ability to sign up for route-specific Rider Alerts to be automatically generated any time there is an impact to service related to a detour, accident or other incident that affects transit service. The site also includes access to the Google Trip Planner and MVTA's "Where's my bus web portal" where riders can find real-time information about the status and/or location of a bus (not yet available for mobile devices). The new site is also the launching point for the MVTA's first ever and just-completed "How to Ride" video.

The majority of the site is also optimized to accommodate use of mobile devices such as tablets and cellular phones. Information about all facets of the MVTA are featured on the site, including Board meeting agendas, packets and minutes, fare information, news and rider alerts and more.

The MVTA is the public transportation provider for the businesses and residents of Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Prior Lake, Rosemount, Savage and Shakopee. Dakota and Scott County are also parties to the MVTA; the MVTA also provides service to the Lakeville Cedar Park & Ride.
